I wish pregnancy flew by as fast as their first year does! It has been a great year especially the last few months of getting to know her personality. The similarities between Jordyn and Hayden make me a little nervous for the next few years. I have started to get little glimpses of the two of them being playmates and I have to say I love seeing them laugh together. She is starting to gain some independence and so all the bitter sweet moments of realizing she is not my little baby anymore begin!

I swear Jordyn is growing up faster than Hayden. She has proven to like constant motion just like Hayden but definitely has a sweeter side to her, we have more cuddly moments. She is determined to figure out how to walk so far she can stand on her own for a while and cruise around the furniture. She is finally eating solid foods which means she is sleeping through the night again Yeah! She is jabbering all the time and thanks to Hayden has learned how to scream for attention. I just love looking at this baby girl and did not expect loving watching her grow just as much as I did with Hayden if not more, I know how quickly they change now.

Jordyn is my new little helper she follows me where ever I go and wants to be a part of what I'm doing.

I love to see 4 generations all together, this is my dad's mom and my mother.

Hayden, keeping my life a constant adventure

If he's not laughing he's crying. He has decided that life is meant to be explored even if some of things he explores makes mom mad. He loves to build things and hiding is still his favorite game. No matter how busy he may get he will stop what he is doing yell mom and give me a big hug, which I like to think is his way of saying I love you. He has been a bit of a late talker but we are finally moving on to phrases and sentences and things are much smoother when we can communicate. I have loved hearing his little voice say "come on mom lets go" his favorite phrase since I am never up to speed.

We enjoyed as much time outside as we could before the snow came but we certainly find ways to enjoy the snow too. We live in a very fun neighborhood with a lot of young couples and children, there is almost always someone for Hayden to play with. Hayden is starting to have second thoughts about Jordyn now that she is big enough to move around and play with toys. Hopefully soon he will learn that she can be fun to play with.

I thought Jordyn might be afraid of Santa but it was him that was afraid she would eat his beard

Christmas was fun we had plenty to do this season and I had a lot of fun decorating my house this year and look forward to getting to add to it each year. We had Christmas and Chris's Hayden had more toys than he knew what to do with and all Jordyn wanted was the paper and ribbon.

The end of summer

So I ran my first race and I have to say I love running. As much as I love my kids it's my one time during the day to myself and yet I still don't go as much as I should. I did a marathon relay which is five people so a little over 5 miles each. It was fun running with a team and now I am getting ready for the Wasatch back Ragnar relay which is a 12 person team and 188 miles I think I have like 18 miles Yikes! Good thing it's not till June.

That's Hayden running after me in the pink I felt kind of bad I couldn't stop but he was happy to see me at the finish line.

Jordyn is really starting to keep my hands full and getting really active. It makes me nervous because I already have one child that never stops moving and I know how exhausting it is. On the bright side I think they will have a lot of fun together! (If I can keep them safe and alive that is)

I think the clean up was to much fun for him for it to count as a punishment.

4 Months old

Jordyn is 4 months already and changing everyday. She is very social, loves to smile and is just really starting

to laugh and giggle. She still saves her best laughs for Hayden, she thinks he is pretty interesting. As you can see I am still loving dressing up my little girl and she is a good sport.

At her 4 month app. she weighed 14.8 pounds and was 25 in. and she really hates getting her shots. (So do I) I had to get the new TDP and I forgot how sore it can make your arm it made me understand why she was so fussy the next day.

What we have been up to

We have been very busy for the last couple months, well at least for me I like to keep my life simple, but we have had a lot of fun. Baby Jordyn is three months now and she has just been a dream of a baby. She is still a great sleeper and loves to do her baby talking. The only real problem we have run into is she won't take a bottle so if anyone has suggestions I would love to hear them, I would like to make it back to the temple before she is a year old.

As you can see this is her new favorite toy and even Hayden likes to share it with her!

Hayden continues to do something every day that makes me laugh such as his new trick of trying on clothes, spraying him self in the face with the hose (hence the funny hair) and coming up with words that don't really sound they should such as "doky" which means water (it started as drink).

Some of our family came up to celebrate the 4th of July with us. It is a really big deal in our little town, they have the Dodge National Rodeo that comes through here. It was fun to get to share out little town with our families.

I am trying to be better about taking more pictures of my children. I want to always remember them while they were at this young and precious age. I feel like I am missing some of Hayden because he changed faster than I took pictues and in this digital world I have no excuses. Of course when ever I set out to do it I remember why I don't try more often, they don't understand I just need them to hold still. In the end we are all frustrated but they sure are fun to look at!

2 Years old

Hayden turned 2 years old on Saturday June 19, this is how he has changed.

Ever since he learned how to move he hasn't stopped and I don't think he is slowing down any time soon. With him being mischievous and me being forgetful were not always a good blend. Like when I forget to put the lotions and creams up high where he can’t get them, or when I don’t get the pantry door closed all the way. With Hayden running up the stairs to get the laundry ready can mean very colorful walls when I come down or going into the garage can mean the house is soaked from the sprayer on the sink (and I mean SOAKED). I am quickly learning that with him there is no quick minute to get something done unless he is napping. However no kid can laugh like him, he has quite a variety. When he laughs with pure joy it brings tears to my eyes almost every time. He talks all the time but I understand very little of what he says, such as fruit snacks that sounds just like the F word! He loves to read books with me before naps and bedtime and sometimes he will fall asleep in my arms and it feels like he is still my baby. It has been an amazing, exciting, frustrating, exhausting, and certainly not boring 2 years.

He is my little ladies man, I love the look on his face. This is the cute table Chris built for him, I put Hayden and Jordyn's handprints in the corner and I love the way it turned out.

2 months old

Jordyn is growing fast, at her two month appointment she weight 11 lbs and was 22 inches. She is doing good at holding her head up, my favorite is she is smiling back at us and making happy noises. Hayden still seems to enjoy having her around and gives her plently of kisses and always informs me that "she sad" when ever she cries.

We had her blessing at the first of June and it all went very well. We had plenty of family that came to join us and she got to wear an old family dress that I loved!

Summer fun

Finally we are having some nice weather and we are enjoying it. Hayden really likes to go to the playgrounds and now we have one right on our street which is really nice. It is a great place for him to get some of that energy out. Life with two kids is going so much better than I thought it would. There is much less of my time but many more precious moments in my life that make me greatful for what I have.

Chris built Hayden a little picinic table for his birthday this weekend it turned out really cute, I will have to post a finished picture. (Thank you Juile for posting the idea on your blog!)

Jordyn is growing fast and doing well and I am having all sorts of fun with her outfits something that just isn't the same with boys.

Hayden loves to help me make cookies and has picked up my bad habbit of eating so much dough that were not hungry for the cookies!

I think our dog is growing by the minute, Hayden is not so sure about wrestling with him anymore now that he is bigger than him. He is still a good dog but we are working on not digging holes every where.

One Month

Jordyn is now a month old and starting to show us her many faces and also letting us hear her cry. She is happy as long as she is being held but those who have two kids know that's just not possible all the time. Hayden has gotten pretty good and getting her binki in her mouth to try and make her happy. She is a good little eater and is growing fast, she weighed 7.11 at her two week app. which is almost a pound more than her birth weight.

Graduation

We headed to Pocatello for my parents graduation. My Dad finished pharmacy school and my mom got her Bachlor's in Science. We are proud of them and it was fun for my family to meet little Jordyn.

This is our first family picture since Hayden was born and it's not the best, obviously I need to be better about this.

I think it's funny that between me and my two kids we cover all the major hair colors of blond, dark, and red!

Hayden's new favorite activity is bubbles and he is pretty good at it. I love to hear him say bubbles and also chase them around the yard.

Coming Home

It's nice to be home and not worried about where Hayden is and who has him. Jordyn is doing really well, she is a good eater and over all a happy baby. When we got home we realized that all the clothes that I have drowned her so my mom went and picked up a couple of premie outfits so that she had some things that fit. They look like doll clothes and they look so cute on her.

Chris has been amazing help, especially with Hayden, I am sad he had to go back to work today but the good news is he gets off at 3. (that's what she looks like in newborn clothes)

I think it's funny how small she looks in her swing, she has a lot to grow into.

Nana has been a huge help getting me organized and just enjoying the new baby with me. She has also been great with Hayden, picking up new toys and helping him to feel special too. He's doing pretty good and still likes to give his sister loves and tickles.

I was sad to see my mom leave and a little scared to do the two kids on my own. My recovery has been really easy though and both kids really seem to be adjusting great. Now that Jordyn is here and I can hold her I realize how much she is worth the extra work.

Jordyn Alayne

She is finally here! 6lbs 13 ounces 19 inches.

I woke up on Wed. morning around 5 am with contractions but not real regular so I wasn't sure. Finally I went to the hospital at 10 because they just kept coming. When I got there I was only a 2 cm and they sent me walking to see if things would progress. By the time I got back and someone finally checked me it was 12:30 and I was 7 to 8 cm and in A LOT of pain. They hurried and did an epidural I had a brief relief and it was time to push. Half way through my first push they told me to stop cause she was out and it was 1:28 pm. Thats my short story and I am feeling great because it went so well.

Nana arrived about 2 hours later to hold the new baby girl
and to bring me a milk shake my first food of the day.

Hayden was excited to meet his little sister. He did so much better than I thought he would, it was very cute to see him want to hold and kiss her. So far he has been soft and gentle I hope it lasts.

Almost Time

So I only have about 2 weeks left till my due date and I am feeling very anxious. I can't really find much more to clean or organize but i'm sure I will find something. My blood pressure was high for a while and so I thought this baby might have to come early like Hayden and we got all ready, but now that it's down it feels like I'm waiting forever. However I am glad that she is going to come when she's ready.

I finally took some pictures of Hayden so that I could remember when it was just him. Sometimes I am amazed at how big he is and others I feel like he is still my baby. This will definatly be an adjustment for both of us. I couldn't get him to smile I will have to have Chirs help my with that sometime.

Hayden is as busy as ever and talking a little. He only ever says what's really important to him like yelling mommy when he wants something, which seems like always. This is his fort his dad made him, they have been really good buddies he is definatly a daddy's boy now.

I am afraid Hayden is going to be very sad when he finds out this baby swing is not for him.

Here is my little helper which usually means things take twice as long, but he sure loves to do what I'm doing.

My sister Jentry came up for a vist and Hayden did better playing with his cousins this time. He doesn't always play nice with other kids but he is definatly learning and getting better.

They had to watch the movie in thier car seats because there was only one little chair and of course they all need one.

We went to the rec center, they have a great pool and the kids all played well, it was really fun. It's a good thing he doesn't mind water in his face, he actually thought this was great and kept asking jentry to do it again.

The Kids Rooms

So this is what we have been hard at work doing the last couple of weeks. Hayden is still using the crib for now he's not ready to switch and the changing tables on the other wall. I'm excited with how it turned out and Chirs has been a huge help down to not complaining when I wanted to go get a different red when the first was to dark. Thanks to my sister this baby has plenty of clothes all the way through 12 months. So now all we have to do is wait for her to come!

This is my sister Wendy's idea for a super cute way to organize all the flower clips that go on the head bands. I love the way it turned out now I just need to make some more flower clips.

This is Hayden's room, I love that he has room to play in here which means a place to hide the mess. I still have plenty more decorating to do but atleast we have a good start!

So here I am at 31 weeks and yes I am aware it does not appear that way! The good news is I can still wear my jeans and anyone who has worn maternity pants knows how nice that is. Even the doctor was surprised but the baby is measuring fine. The bad news is I still feel very pregnant, she's in there squishing my organs and kicking. So who knows every pregnancy is different but she is doing well so far!

The next thing on my to do list is baby proofing this house, and if you know Hayden that means I have to do it thoroughly. My hair stuff is his new obsession which is doubly dangerous with outlets and things that can burn him. I liked this picture though because it shows his guilty face.

Here is a picture of our new house, snowing outside is fitting because it's seems to do that a lot here. I can't wait till this summer when we can actually see our yard.

Getting Settled

As we get settled into this house I am loving it more and more. It feels so good knowing where were going to live for the next few years and not just the next few months. Were not trying to just make an apartment work for a while we get to really enjoy everything a house brings. There were times when I hated living up here and dreamed about Chris getting transferred. Now we have been here for almost 2 years and have made some really great friends with kids Hayden's age, and because this is such a small town, they all literally live right down the street. This is not our dream home by any means but we are VERY comfortable and happy here and the recreation up here is to die for if you like the outdoors, and we do!

This at Park city about 15 min. from where we live, this is the mogul freestyle world cup. They have events like this all the time, we just saw Shawn White win a world cup Half Pipe! My favorite part is it's FREE entertainment!

We got a dog when we moved in here his name is Ganghis as in Ganghis Kon (you would have to ask Chris about it?) So far he has been a great puppy, Hayden can't get enough of him and he learns quick. He has learned that carpets are off limits and he has a nice fenced in yard with a dog house.

This is just Hayden enjoying the new house and space. So far his favorites are the stairs and light switches.

Major life changes

So the last few months have been long and crazy here is a quick update. For those of you who don't know we are expecting our second baby in April. It's a little GIRL and we are very excited but nervous to have two little ones, well I am anyways.
We had Christmas in Oregon with my family and it was so much fun to all be together with all our kids.
We have bought our first home and just moved in and so far i LOVE it. This mean no more basements, no more orange and brown carpets, and no more of the weird things you put up with for apartment living (and we have had weird ones)! I will have pictures as soon as I actually find the camera and have had time to breath, moving while pregnant is hard.

Stupid computers a necessary evil

Throughout our married lives Chris and I have had really bad luck with our computers. You name it and it has probably happened to us from being stolen, breaking, crashing, and just plain dieing. The latest is our touch screen computers touch screen stopped working. In trying to fix it we had to reset it to factory settings and we lost the software to link Chris's phone to our computer which is how we get the Internet, hence the no new blogs. After finally getting hp to warranty it and getting it back with it is now broken again and I really don't want to deal with. It works fine as a regular computer but who wants a touch screen that doesn't work!

That being said here are a few fun pictures over the last few months. Hayden is almost 18 months and I am tyring desperately to keep up with him. He is fun and growing up so much every day but I have no idea where he gets all his energy. If he is awake it is rare that he is not running around. He is overall a very happy boy unless he needs a nap of course! Chris is working hard on his masters and is almost half way through. We will both be happy when that is over and we can take a break from school until I go back and who knows when that will happen.

We have to heat our little place with a wood burning stove, here is Chris working hard for his family.

Halloween was fun and Hayden actually kept his hat on for me. With Halloween came the discovery of suckers.

This was a trip to see my sister Jentry and I love that we fit all three car seats and that they all crashed at the same time from all the excitement.

Back to School

Well the summer is over and Chris has his students back and they are living up to high school student reputations. Just kidding I think he is enjoying teaching again. He also has to drive down to Weber State three nights a week which gives Hayden and I plenty of bonding time! It's hard now but will be worth it when he's done.

In the mean time Hayden has gotten pretty good at walking now and no longer likes to be held. He's not really saying words yet except for ma ma and da da, but he has mastered the point and yell. I am having fun with my camera and my cute little boy.

This is at our local rec. center, it's a really fun pool especially now that Hayden is really starting to enjoy going there.

The Walking Begins

Hayden had been very cautious about his walking and so even though he could take his first steps well over a month ago he has finally decided to start walking. In less than a week he can walk on his own, bend down to pick things up and stand up in the middle of the floor. I'm not used to it yet since it happened so fast but its fun to watch him learn.

His new favorite activity now is taking his lion to the park where he can push it as far as he wants. He gets really into it and pushes it around for over an hour!

As a family we went to our first demolition Derby and I have to say we had a lot of fun, even Hayden liked watching the cars crash. I can't believe people are crazy enough to get into cars and crash them till they can't move anymore. My favorite part is that there is not alcohol or smoking allowed which kept the crowd mellow and fun!

Small town life

There are hard things about living in a really small exspensive town such as not having any stores and not being able to afford a house but there are no apartments! There are also really great things like Christmas music playing on loud speaks through the whole town all of the holiday season, awesome fire work shows that you can see from your front porch four nights in a row for the 4th of July. They also have these random events like everyone slpit into teams and we played volleyball all night. Today they had a car show and and auction (people spending rediculous amounts of money on donated items for charity) with all the fair type booths. The best part is that you know almost everyone so it is just a big party!

We finally bought some furniture, we went to IKEA which was an intense but fun experience. Going into that store with money can be a dangerous thing.
As you can see I can't even get Hayden to leave things on the shelves long enought to take a picture.

Chris decided he couldn't live without this mirror but neither of us realized quite how big it was until we got it home. After a good laugh we decided we really like it.

My New Camera

My wonderful husband got me a nice new camera for my birthday. I hope this will motivate me to take more cute pictures of Hayden and then I can blog more often. Any way here are my first tries I hope to get better, luckily I have a very cute subject.

Hayden turned 1 last month I can't believe how fast it went but it sure has been fun, He was such a sweet baby and now I am getting to see his wild side, hopefully we will continue to have fun !

The Hogle ZOO

On Saturday we took Hayden to the zoo and it was so much fun. Hayden actually enjoyed it more than he thought would. He loved the animals as long as they were moving, so the monkeys were his favorite because they were loud and all over the place.

As you can see it was very sunny and hot but with enough sunscreen neither Hayden or I got burned! YAY (not an easy thing for us)

We took Chris's sister with us for her birthday, Happy Birthday Sarah thanks for the help.

He was all smiles the whole time and would not take a nap the whole time we were there.

My garden

Chris and I have been working hard putting in a vegetable garden since we have a lot of room for it here. The hard part is there is a short frost free time frame here so a lot of people have green houses. So the good husband Chris is, he helped me build one and I am very proud of it. I sure hope it all grows now. If it does we will have all the veg. we could ever want!

The other project we did was this dresser I found at a garage sale for $3. It looked pretty ugly but it is amazing what some sanding, paint, and knobs can do. Now it matches perfectly with his room!

Hayden is just recovering from pneumonia the poor little guy. I took him to the doctor after he had a fever for the third day because I could tell he really wasn't feeling well but I never would have guessed he had pneumonia. The good news is the antibiotics worked wonderful and he is almost back to himself. We still have to go back to make sure it's cleared up but I think he is ok.

He is busy getting into everything and his favorite activity is pulling everything of the shelves , he just likes to watch it drop. He stands up a cruises around furniture as much as he can but he can't balance we enough to walk yet.

He is very good at feeding himself and loves to do it. I think it is great, I can get a lot done while he eats now!

Another home another adventure

So we have moved yet again that puts us up to 8 moves since we were married 3 years ago. Although I am very good at it now I am SOOOO over it especially with a baby now. The good thing it has taught me is that although I like some of the place we move and others not so much, I do have my family where ever we go and we can be happy where ever we are. I now it's cheesy but so true.
The good news is this is the view out our front door, it's kind of cloud in this picture but the mountains are beautiful, cold yes, but beautiful!

I just wanted to post some pictures of the fun we have at home and what Hayden is up to. He has mastered crawling and is onto pulling up on furniture. He laughs a lot more and I love that, we have so much fun together.
This is him with his cousins can't you just see the fun they are going to have together. Don't worry Jentch I won't let Hayden beat up Paiton!

Back to school

Chris got accepted to his masters program at Weber State, he is doing education. The best part is that he does not have to take the GRE so we are excited to not have to go through that. The break was nice but I guess it is back to school again.

Hayden continues to grow and do new things everyday. He is experimenting with his voice and breathing. He likes to breath in real hard it sounds like he is wheezing, it scared me at first until I realized he was doing it for fun. He is saying syllables now, my favorite is ma ma even if he doesn't mean it yet it's still fun to hear it.

As you can see he is getting better at sitting up. Sorry my photos are not very creative but I thought these faces were cute.

Hey guys I am sorry I never update this but I knew I would be bad at it before I ever started. I guess every 2 months is better than never right. It was a busy holidays for us and lots of traveling. It was great visiting family and Hayden did pretty good. Life here in Kamas is quiet with A LOT of snow, it's beautiful but it seems like it never stops.

As you can see Hayden is getting bigger and cuter ever day. He doesn't jump in this thing much he just likes being up where he can spin and look around. He has mastered rolling around and I can't keep him in one place anymore, now he is working on sitting up.

Lookin Good on Sunday

Here is Hayden's new Sunday outfit I think he looks so big. We had to get a new one after he pooped all over the other one. We don't do much in this small town and now it is to cold to take Hayden for a walk so we hang out in the house a lot.

Hayden had learned how to roll over to his stomach but can't get back yet which makes it hard to get anything done because I am always rolling him back over, silly boy!

For those of you who don't know how small it is I can walk the whole town in about 30 minutes. The good news it's beautiful up here and we go for drives to places like this.

Halloween

Hayden's first Halloween was a bit of a bust. We bought a bag of candy but even though we live in the middle of town we didn't have 1 trick or treater. I guess you only go to people's house that you know around here. We did go hang out with some other young couples, they had 13 young kids there so it was very loud and apparently very traumatic for Hayden. He screamed for the first 20 minutes we almost had to go home but he got used to it.

This is the only costume I could find for a baby, Chris thought it was pretty funny. As you can see he is going through the drooling stage.

I'm proud he can hold himself up. This is my rose pumpkin, it took me three days because as I have realized my art projects take a lot longer with a baby around.

It already very cold up here and I think he looks funny all bundled up!

I loved getting to see everyone's kids and see what everyone is doing. Emailing pictures of Hayden to everyone started to take a lot of time so I decided posting them once was a better idea.

Hayden is growing fast he is 4 months old now and already 15 pounds. He has started laughing which is my favorite thing. When he is not laughing he is sleeping, I think he has the record for how much he sleeps. Last night was 12 hours and after a quick feeding he decided he hadn't had enough and slept for a couple more

I added some from when he was 2 weeks old so you could see how much he has grown. That binki looks huge!
